The CRDZ project was born out of the need for individuals to be able to collect and manage their digital credential in one place, hence Life In One Place. The evidence of transient workers being exploited by unscrupulous employers as they hold credentials hostage, was and is an injustice that needs addressing.
However to address this plague on society we must first address the chicken and egg question; why should anyone store digital copies of documents if they are unusable as a form of proof,
To overcome the chicken and egg dilemma, it is important that credential demanding services drive the value of credential storage. Then as a critical mass is accumulated then and only then, can we expect users to gravitate towards to self managed and encrypted, crypto credentials.
So firstly we must solve the issue of deploying a self-sovereign platform that reconciles the conflict surrounding the demands of privacy and regulatory inspection and enables the development of confidential, credential demanding services.
