We are nearing a shift from the irrevocable sharing of personal data and credentials across multiple services, e.g. Facebook, government departments, etc., TO managing and selectively sharing only required (revocable) data. Crypto (encrypted) credentials will be anchored in certifiably true data and shareable by way of partial encrypted snippets that might for example; include age and gender but (maybe not) name. Credentials, will include anything from passports, to diplomas, certifications, etc. allowing users to prove authenticity, without revealing more than required. Importantly, such data will be revocable and privacy will be sacrosanct. |
